Dermot Bannon's programme 'Room to Improve' broadcast on RTE 1 on Sunday August 2nd, 2015, featured an average semi in South Dublin with a hipped roof. As part of the renovations an attic conversion was included. They were charged 32k for the attic conversion. This was a pretty standard conversion without a bathroom, and without altering the roof profile. There was a problem with the new stairs, often the case with hipped roofs, and this cost an extra 1k to rectify.
